Day Three!

Time to get on the boat! Can I just say I was SO excited to finally get on the boat! We decided to get there early to beat the crowds. We still had to stand in line for a bit but it was okay because we spent time making up stories for the people around us. Turns out a lot of people are traveling with their mistresses or sugar daddy... well that was always my guess anyway...

So then we get on the boat and go straight for the ice cream, like any normal adult would.

We wore our swimming suits under our clothes so after ice cream we went to the adults only deck (because who want other peoples kids around when you are on vac, not us that is for sure) and laid out.

After a couple hours we felt a burn starting so we went and got another ice cream and decided to wander the boat. We had to play the floor is lava when we walked into the empty comedy club.

During our wandering my cousins shoe broke! Totally came apart! After laughing at my cousins misfortune, I offered to let her wear my flip flops because my pants went way past my feet so no one could tell. I'm five feet even, my pants are always to long!

We decided to get another ice cream cone to make her feel better and then headed to the room. It was a little awkward because my cousins suitcase came first and I tried to watch out the peep hole for when they would bring mine. I was about 5 inches to short though so I kept making my cousin check! Finally it came and we got to unpack! we only had four drawers between the two of us so it was a little difficult. After we unpacked we went to the mandatory safety-whatever which was boring but we got an ice cream come all the way so we made it through! Then the boat took off!!!! I thought it was going to be a little more exciting (good thing we got another ice cream cone)... but it turns out the boat goes very slowly.

The boat had a Welcome Aboard show that we decided to go. It was good but the best part was our cruise director. Who we both fell madly in love with. Luckily they replayed everything over the TV in everyone's room so we got to watch him all we wanted. In a non-creepy way I mean....

After the welcome we decided to go to dinner. I was already starving since I had really only had about a dozen ice cream cones, some french fries, a plate of deserts and a hot dog... We ate dinner with a bunch of much much older women. IT was a little awkward (it got a lot more awkward later when one of the older ladies decided to follow us around and be best friends for the rest of the trip...) We ended the night at the club and fell into bed sometime after midnight. Only to start again for day 4!!

Cousin Cruise!!!

So I just got back from a 10 day vacation. I am the tannest I have ever been and I have more loads of laundry to do then I know what to do with! So what am I doing minutes after dumping all my luggage just inside my door? Not separating my dirty clothes or unpacking any of my bags like I should, instead I'm going to let you be jealous about my amazing vaca that I packed for about a month ago...!

My cousin and I decided we are grown ups! And grown ups get to do whatever they want! Okay okay okay... this is the real story. I have twin cousins that are six week older then me. We got to grow up together so we are strangely close for cousins (actually all of us are abnormally close but that is neither here or there...) So the oldest of the three of us is getting married! woot woot! So she decided to have a bachlorette party in Vegas like all normal people, that is normal right? and also its one of our most favorite places. So after talking to the twin that is'nt getting married we decided that if I have to take time off work and drive all the way to that side of the country we might as well do it right and add on a Cruise for the two of us! After not a whole lot of thought(because lets be honest, all the best decisions are made without over thinking it).... next thing we knew we had booked it! Let the count down begin! So the plan was we would leave Idaho and drive to California. Once in Cali we would get on a cruise ship and head to Mexico. After we get back to Cali we would drive to Vegas and party hard! Then drive home. A feat that in our early 20's would not have affected us. In our late 20's we definitely had some interesting moments...

Day one(Friday)-
I worked a half day on Friday. The crazy in both of us thought it would be a good idea to leave after work and drive through the night! I picked up my cousin in Utah and off we went! We had an unplanned visitor we named Nigel. He was a fly, and he started out very shy but by the end he had gotten very friendly with my cousins eyelashes. We stopped at every state sign and took pictures. We drank to many energy drinks, and almost didn't make it to the bathroom in time to many times to count! We kept expecting to get tired but the adrenaline and excitement of our trip was to much to take us down! we fleeeew to Cali (seriously though, We look my dads car and it loves to go fast!)

We made it to California! We decided to head straight to the beach and get some sleep since we had been awake for over 24 hours (by the time we made it to the beach the energy drinks had worn off and we looked felt like zombies) We could see our cruise ship from our spot in the sand so that was kind of cool. I passed right out and slept for almost two hours. My cousin.... maybe slept? After I woke up we played in the ocean for a while and then headed to our hotel. On the way we had the horrible discovery that Nigel had died in the car. We took it hard. but recovered quickly when we got upgraded to a suite and early check in. Once in the hotel we ordered Chinese delivery and passed out after only a few bites.

So that is day one! Well actually day one and day two but whatev. I'll put day three up tomorrow!

SEATTLE!

So I get to travel quite a bit for work. I usually get to go cool places, which makes sitting in really boring meetings all day worth it. I work in the Financial Aid department of a collage and its my job to make sure that everything we do it legit. My friend Julie is almost always my travel companion, We travel really well together, well usually... Neither one of us was really excited for this trip and apparently the universe didn't want us going either....

Our trip started at 2am when we left our town and headed to the closest airport four hours away. Half way there Julie realized she left her entire wallet at home... After a quick call to the airport we found out she can still get on the plane but security would be a nightmare. We figured if worst comes to worst I would head on to Seattle by myself (luckily our boss had thought to send an extra business credit card with me for emergencies) We got to the airport and I sailed right through. I sat on the other side of security for about half an hour when they finally let Julie through! We would be going together!

We spent the whole first day playing in Seattle. I had no idea I would be walking uphill the whole time but it was fun. We ate lunch at pikes place and bought some fruit to take with us to eat for breakfast the rest of the week (fruit that froze that night in our mini fridge)

The first day of class was only a half day so we got to sleep in (YAY!). Our hotel was so nice, if you go to Tacoma stay at the Silver Cloud Inn. Our view was amazing and it was right on the beach. During class for the rest of the week they gave a breaks, Julie and I spent them laying on the lawn of Pacific Lutheran University (the campus that hosted our conference) soaking up the sun. Julie absolutely hates that we live in Idaho so whenever we go anywhere we get all the warm weather we can.

Sometimes we go crazy during these meetings and have to find wasys to entertain ourselves..

.

We got to play around the on the beach every night after class. It was the best part of the whole trip. . I did touch jellyfish! and little baby crabs crawled all over the sand. On our last night while walking along the beach we even saw two bald eagles!! Actually overall we didn't enjoy this trip very much. I expected to fall in love with this area but it definitely didn't happen.

After a very long week we finally got to head home. Julie's wallet showed up on day three (thanks to her husband). We jumped on an early flight to get home sooner. Julie had a powder mix in her suitcase that exploded on the way home...

Moving Day

I find myself here again... time to move. I LOVED my old apartment so I wasn't exactly thrilled about this move. This move made number 14 in ten years. I'm practically a pro. I'm so much a pro that I have really good boxes that I use over and over. I can pack my house in a matter of hours :( This move I slowly packed over a month.I was supposed to move in April but it got pushed back to June, it was super stressful. I FINALLY moved in though!

It took me a whole week to unpack! Seriously! A WHOLE WEEK! That is insane, I'm usually unpacked before I go to bed at night! It didn't help that I moved out of my house on a Saturday (thanks Dad and Nicole!!) and had to stay at my parents house until Tuesday and went out of down for a week on Friday night. Murphy had no idea what was going on. It took a month before either one of us finally selpt through the night (just in time for me to go our of town again!) but we are finally starting to warm up the the place.

I only just put away the last box (yes I saved them again) and have figured out the drawers in the kitchen. We have a backyard now that Murphy can run around in. He doesn't so much run as lay in the sun... but either way he is happy. I'm happy because this place has AC :)

Getting the internet hooked up has been a nightmare, but a month after move in we are finally back up! (I cant take any credit for this, the tech that came out gets it)

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

Okay I know this is like two months late, but in my defense A LOT has happened in the last two months!

SO anyway! Mothers Day! I love my mom. I was the teenager you pray you never get and she did not try to sell me to the gypsies. She threatened it just about everyday, but never once did she actually do it.

I finally grew out of my awful teenage years and came to appreciate my mom and all she does for me. I look back now and think.... She should have beat me with a shovel... :) We celebrated this holiday on Saturday instead of Sunday because I had to work. So we all met up at my parents house and had dinner/ presents. It was a good day playing with the babies and eating all good food. My dad and baby brother surprised us all with flowers and Florence chocolates.
