WHAT!!!!

Okay seriously, Did anyone else watch Grey Anatomy? I know its just a fictional show and I shouldn't be that invested in it... but I live alone and I keep my shows on all the time so I don't hear the murderers creeping in my house (and by murderers I mean the unexplained noises made from a house built in the 40's that aren't actually anyone at all, just my imagination run wild.) They are my fake friends!! And one of them just DIED! He just died right on the table and Meredith didn't even call anyone to come be with her! I would have come had she just called!...and was a real person.... When Danny died, I was so sad. The airplane accident? Seriously that was horrible and again brought me to tears. But this! How could Derek just die like that! I am in shock.... and maybe a little mad. Do they have to kill the characters off? Cant they just create something new and exciting adventure for them far away so they cant be onscreen anymore? like Christina? How come she gets to live but everyone else dies? Rude.

Anyway that was the big excitement for my week. Golbergs focused on The Princess Bride and Greys killed Derek. I may never recover...

Not what you want to hear.

So I'm at work, busy as crap, and I get a phone call from my brother. My brothers and I talk pretty regularly but not usually during the day when we are all at work. This is how the conversation went.. Me-"What" (Side note, my brothers and I are all incredibly sarcastic towards each other)
Brother-"Did you hear about mom?"
Me- "No why?"
Brother-"Her and Dad are at the doctors office. Mom has cancer"

Well crap. This is not the conversation I ever wanted to have about any of my family members. I was so busy at work this day that I didn't have time to stop and think about this. I told brother that I needed him to take care of this because I didn't have a second to stop.

So its colon cancer. My mom will turn 50 this year and decided to get a colonoscopy now, because who isn't excited for that!, instead of waiting until she was actually 50. The doctor found a lump and removed it but it came back positive for cancer. They scheduled surgery for a week later to remove all the area around the growth to look for/prevent spread of the cancer. At the point we knew it could go one of three ways: First option (our favorite option)- they would have gotten it all and this was just a bump in the road. Second option- Her CT comes back showing growths in other places of her body or the Third option-They test the lymph nodes in the surrounding tissue that they removed and find cancer cells.

They did the CT and it came back clean (Thank goodness) the morning of her surgery. Her surgery was about three hours but felt like three years. I do not like when I am not in control of everything, especially when it comes to my family. They removed 12 inches of colon and we had to wait five days for the results to come back. It was a very long five days watching my mom recover in her hospital bed and pretend to be calm while we wait.

We finally got the pathology report back. CANCER FREE!!! I cannot tell you how relieved I was to hear that.

As of today she is allowed to have clear liquids and the plan is to have her released Saturday morning.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

So the day I have been dreading finally came. My Birthday. Gross. I know I am not actually old, but I sure feel like I am! It fell on a weekday so I worked. My bosses sent me a stunning floral arrangement though. I love getting flowers so that made it worth it. Then it was lunch time and my friends took me to local Indian restaurant (seriously the Indian restaurant here is SOO good) where I ate way to much!

After lunch we went back to the office and did my hair! I used to have long hair with a beautiful ombre but I changed it and I haven't loved it ever since. I told my friend to just change it to whatever and she didn't disappoint. It took the rest of the day but totally worth it!!

The next day the girls I nanny took me to dinner at the new Hibachi place. It just opened this week and I have been dying to go! I used to work at a Hibachi steakhouse in Texas so it brought back so many memories! It was good. I'd recommend it in a few weeks once they have got all the kinks out. The girls and I had fun though. they had never been to a place like that so they loved it!

At the end of everything it definitely could have been worse!

Dry spell

Soo.... in the four years that my divorce has been official I have been on two dates. To say I am in a dry spell would be an understatement. My biggest problem is I am incredibly shy and terrified of rejection. This year I made a New Year Resolution to be brave. I am regretting that decision but its to late now. So in an attempt to be brave I went on a Tinder date. I'm not going to give the details but I will tell you was awful and I immediately deleted my Tinder account. Are all the men who are still available creepy pervs, or just the ones in Idaho? I'll never know because I'd rather die alone then go through that again.

In my defense I didn't actually make my account, my cousin did it.

Spring Break!

I work at a cosmetology school that takes spring break. WHOOOOHOOOO Spring break!

So what amazing exciting adventure did I do? Get ready for it....I worked. WHOOHOO! Oh wait, That isn't exciting... I forgot how boring I am. Sorry to let you guys down! I had big plans to sleep in and play with my puppy but someone needed to be at the school with our IT guy all week. I got voted to be that someone since I was the only one still in town. I got up and went to the gym then straight to work where I had very long conversations about tech crap and cars with our IT guy. I'm not sure why he thinks I know anything about either of these subject but I'm super good at making crap up. I might be his new best friend.

I also house/puppy sat for my friend while she took her family to Mexico. Murphy was very excited to spend the whole week with his best friends and not have to ride in the car a single time. When I wasn't at work or the gym I laid on the couch with three puppies and binge watched E!. So I'm marking this one down as a win. Next year I am definitely leaving the country though, I will not get stuck with the IT guy again!
