Puppy Problems

You know what sucks the worst? My puppy who wont stop digging up the carpet when I leave. Technically he isn't a puppy anymore so this is so annoying! He doesn't chew on anything else like my shoes (although he does carry them all to the couch so he can hang out with them) or furniture and he doesn't pee on anything so am I being a spoiled brat complaining about this one flaw of his? Maybe, but I DON'T CARE!

The second I walk out the front door without him its like I've been kidnapped by Nazis and he is the only who could possibly save me, so my life depends on him getting out to find me! Lets be honest though, A-I live in Idaho so the Nazi population is pretty scarce, B- he is scared of his own barking and C-He weighs in at a not-so-scary 14 pounds. Also I always leave of my own free will on my own two feet. Never have I left with another person so I don't know why he has this fear.

On the days I work he gets to go to a friends house and play with his other puppy friends. He loves to play with his puppy friends and has no problem when I walk out the door. The days I don't work, if  I want to get lunch with friends or run some errands he freaks out. I don't want to take him to his friends house across town only to pick him up an hour later. I don't know what to do!!

So sometime this week I will be replacing the carpet in by the door with a beautiful new tiled entryway. If it doesn't stop him from trying to claw his way to freedom it will, at the very least, make his little nails shorter. I would get another dog but that seems like admitting defeat. Also when I got Murphy (my puppy) I lucked out and got everything I wanted in a dog. LAAAZZZY. Also I'm not ready to share my love with another fur baby.

I'm moving in a few weeks to a place with a yard so maybe that will help... UGH! #puppy problems!
